Life
is getting very busy as you can tell! I haven't updated this blog
in almost 2 months!
Isaiah's
doing so well! He's got loads of hair now and it's actually starting
to come down a bit on the top. We still get stopped everywhere we
go so people can touch it or compliment him on a very 'cool' hairdoo!
He's
saying "yeah" and "blah blah blah", "da da",
and now sings "ee ii ee ii oooo" from Old MacDonald Had
a Farm. I'm still waiting to hear "ma ma" :)
He's
got his two bottom teeth in now and I think he's starting to work
on the top two. He's not sleeping through the night yet but he's only
napping twice a day now for a max of an hour each nap. I figure it's
bound to happen any time now.
We
entered Isaiah's picture into the Pampers Photo Contest and we await
the outcome. We should know by July 16th! This is the photo we entered...We'll
keep you posted on how he did!

Of
course we celebrated Canada Day and took some shots of Isaiah
with his special Canada Day hat...

Here
are some of the latest and best photos...

Sleeping
after cherry picking at Isaiah's Great Grandma's house (notice the
cherry stains around his mouth)...

First
time on a swing by himself - he loved it!

His
newest toy - the rescue rider!

You
talkin' to me...?
Back
in June we went to a local beach with Nick's parents and had
a great time. Isaiah loved the water as you can see...

I
can't believe Isaiah's going to be a year old in a little over a month's
time. My baby isn't going to be a baby for much longer - man, it goes
SO fast!!

Oy,
I can't believe it's been a month since I updated Isaiah's blog! It's
been a busy time. Isaiah turned 9 months old yesterday - can't believe
it!
We
took him to the Aquarium and park, and had a great time. He was more
interested in the crow/seagull territorial battles going on in the
park than he was in spending time in the aquarium.
He
weighs 21lbs -- as my back can attest. He's now sitting up on his
own which is great! He's also gone 'swimming' in our hot tub with
us a few times now and loves it. Here's a recent picture...

I'll
be getting more pictures up soon!
Sunday,
April 18th, 2004
I've
got some new bath pictures here. Tell me who this kid reminds you
of...

Here's
Isaiah passed out on Daddy's legs...He still loves to sleep with his
arms out and mouth open - he's been doing that since birth...

We
took him to another local beach with his Nan from England, and he
was quite enthralled with the seagulls.
He
went swimming in our hot tub for the first time today. He really enjoyed
it! He had something in his mouth the whole time. Nice hair, eh! Got
a few pics here...

And
lastly, one of Isaiah's favorite past-times is to jump around in his
jolly jumper...here's our little 'homey'...

Isaiah
got his 6 month shots today and...(dum dum dum dum!) he remembers
who the doctor is now. It was interesting. He screamed his head off
as soon as I laid him down on the examining table and throughout the
shots but once I picked him up, he was fine. Poor little guy.
He
got weighed at the docs and is now 20lbs 13oz! Maybe it's all that
crazy hair...?
His
favorite word these days is 'da da da da da da da'. I keep saying
'ma ma ma' and he says 'da da da' in response with a big grin. I think
they're in cahoots with each other!
Here's
a picture of Isaiah in his new Hawaiian shirt...lookin' pretty cool...

And
here's one of Isaiah's shoes beside Nick's...he's got a little catching
up to do!

They
always look so angelic when they're sleeping! Grandma Jean and Grandad
bought him a Canuck's outfit - good timing as the Canucks are battling
it out in the playoffs!

Here's
another one of him in his Hawaiian shirt. He looks a bit like an old
fuddy duddy about ready to take on some serious shuffle boarders on
a cruise...LOL And just look at those legs!!

It
was so warm today that we took Isaiah to the beach for the first time!
He enjoyed sitting on the rocks, kicking them back and forth with
his feet. Here are a few pictures of our afternoon...

Playing
with the rocks at the beach...

Me
and Mummy...

Me
and Daddy...
This
is Isaiah in his new 'big boy' carseat. As you can see, he's enjoying
the armrests (grin). The boy likes his space! And, of course, you
get a good look at that crazy hair of his!

With
the warm sun out so often these days, we've been able to take Isaiah
outside to play on our back deck. Here are a few pictures of him 'chillin'
out...

Here's
something wild! This is my dad's baby picture at around 8 months old,
and I've put Isaiah's 6 month old picture right beside it...talk about
genes!
Here's
my mom at 1month old and Isaiah at the same age...veddy interesting...

Sunday,
March 28th, 2004
Isaiah
now weighs 19+ pounds. He's drinking from a sippy cup and quite proud
of himself!

Isaiah
at 7 months old!
He's
now riding in a 'big boy' car seat. We bought an Eddie Bauer Alpha
Omega 3-in-1 carseat - it's pretty nice! It's got arm rests and Isaiah's
already using them ;)

He's
sitting in a 'high chair' now. We decided on the 'cheaper' version
and bought a booster seat with a tray and strapped it to a chair,
instead of buy an actual high chair (too much $$ and take up so much
space!). This booster seat travels very well and works great!
I
bought a baby pool for him the other day (early, I know but it was
a very good deal) and it comes with little blow up rings. I swear
they were worth the price alone! He loves the rings as you can see
in these pictures...

This
is Isaiah with his grandpa the last time we visited. He fell asleep
in grandpa's lap. It was so sweet I had to take a picture!

Monday,
March 22nd, 2004
Isaiah
caught his first cold about a week ago but he's finally over it now.
Not bad for 7 months old! I'm still fighting mine (caught it from
him).
What's
new... I've tried him on the Farley's biscuits but he's still not
sure what they are and what he should do with them. I also tried giving
him mashed potatoes but he spit it right out and wouldn't open his
mouth for another bite. He sure knows what he likes! He's
now eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

He
loves going to bed. He's like me when I was a youngin'. He usually
talks to his mobile friends for a bit and then goes to sleep. I used
to go to my crib and shake it until someone put me down for a nap.
It's so nice!

He's
sitting up in a bath chair now and loves it. Bath time gets longer
and longer every time ;) I think he'll be able to sit up by himself
soon, and he loves standing with help. I think he's quite proud of
himself!
As
for the hair...well...it just gets longer and longer...and higher
and higher (he looks so different in the bath!). We're waiting for
it to come down. Not sure when...and if...that will ever happen ;)
Sunday
March 7th, 2004
I
can't quite believe it but Isaiah is going to be 7 months old in 11
days - it goes SO fast!
He's
now happily eating sweet potato, squash, green beans, peas, carrots,
and pears, along with his rice cereal. I've bought him some Farley's
Biscuits that I'll try him on tomorrow - should be interesting!
He's
getting more and more goofy every day - just like his Mummy! He's
piles of fun ;) Here's a picture of his goofy side...

Here's
another poser picture...what a chunky monkey!!

Sunday
February 29th, 2004
Isaiah
was dedicated today with all our friends and family around - it was
wonderful! There were 10 babies in total dedicated at our church -
quite a service!
I'd
been looking around for the 'perfect' outfit for him for about 3 weeks
but didn't find anything. And then, on Saturday I lucked out and found
the LAST denim shirt with a tartan red tie at Zellers for half price
- cheap! It looked SO cute on him. Here's a picture of him posing...

My
parents were down for a visit (and to attend his dedication). We went
for a few walks and visited a local park where Isaiah 'played' around
a little. Here's a picture of him hanging from the monkey bars...

Thursday,
February 26th, 2004
Isaiah
is a big lover of sweet potato at the moment. Actually, he's a lover
of anything edible ;) (big surprise!).
Last
week was a brutal one for Isaiah and I. We went on a business trip
with my hubby and Isaiah was not happy to be away from home. I had
to hold him most of the time and rock him to sleep to keep him from
screaming (blew the blood vessels in my arms - wayyy too heavy for
little ole me to hold that much!). But he's home now and happy as
ever - phew ;)
He's
being dedicated at our church this Sunday and we're very excited!
Both of our families will be there as well so that's pretty great!
Here
are some new pictures...

Sitting
up on his own for about 10 seconds (before falling over)

Love
this picture! "HUH?" LOL

He's
now holding his bottle all by himself (and quite proud of himself!)

Eating
peas!

Having
fun!
Thursday,
February 12th, 2004
Isaiah
rolled onto his left side for the first time yesterday, and now it's
his new favorite thing to do. He's quite proud of himself too! We
figured he was going to bypass rolling altogether but it looks like
he's changed his mind ;)
He
did well with his shot, as did Mummy. He cried for a minute and then
was fine. We've also had another go at the rice pablum (plain this
time) and he's done much better - no tummy aches!
Monday,
February 9th, 2004
This
past week has been a hard one for me. I came down with Bronchitis
and am now on antibiotics. Getting a little better day by day. Mostly
it's just a bad cough. I almost didn't go to the doctor because I
figured it was just a bad cold, but then decided to go before the
weekend and sure enough! Isaiah's keeping very well though which is
a relief!
We
started him on rice cereal on Saturday and he took to it like ducks
to a pond ;) I have to keep holding his hands though because he grabs
for the spoon and then it goes everywhere! I made a mistake of buying
rice cereal with bananas when I should have bought just plain rice
cereal. He got a bit of tummy ache from the former so I've now bought
the plain stuff and we'll give that a go. He sure likes it going in
though! Got some pictures of it here:
He's
also discovered his feet and spends a lot of time playing with them
as you can see here...

And,
of course, he's teething again. He'll chew on just about anything.
But he absolutely LOVES this plastic padded "I'm a little teapot"
book (from his Nana). It plays music and so we (a.k.a. "I")
sing along with it. He just grins and bites it again.
He's
got to go and get another shot this week for pneumonia. I can't believe
how many shots they get! Luckily, he's very good at getting his shots.
We'll see how he does as he gets older. If he's anything like his
mother...well, let's just say I'll be in for it ;)
Here's
a few pictures of him in a cute outfit...I have to dress him while
I can right! It passed the Nick-O-meter so it ain't that bad!
Monday,
January 26th, 2004
Isaiah
got his second set of shots today. He did well again. The first shot
was a surprise and he looked at the doctor like, "hey, why'd
you do that?". The second shot - he wasn't so surprised. His
bottom lip started trembling and seconds later he let out a wail.
But as soon as I picked him up he was fine and laughing. Amazing kid!
He
was weighed and cashes in at 18lbs 4oz. Big boy! The doctor called
him a 'Budda Baby'. She was a little surprised, and asked me what
I'm feeding him (with a smile on her face). I think she was impressed
that he's just nursing. We're going to try him on rice pablum within
the next few weeks.
We
went away with Nick on a business trip last week and had a great time.
It was Isaiah's 6th ferry ride - not bad for 5 1/2 months!
We
tried him out in a jolly jumper and exersaucer for the first time
and he liked them both...
Monday,
January 18th, 2004
Isaiah
is 5 months old today! He's been changing so fast now it's hard to
keep up. He's laughing and it's so cute! He's started giving raspberries
and is very proud of himself - especially when the spit goes flying!
He's also started sucking his thumb. I think his teething is starting
up again - poor little guy. So the thumb gives him some relief ;)
Here's
a cute picture of him during "tummy time"...

Here's
a new favorite of mine...I can't believe how much he changes every
week!

He
go this first haircut on Saturday night. As you can see, he's sporting
quite a 'doo', and there were a few longgg stray hairs that we snipped
off to even things out...
Before...

After...

Friday,
January 9th, 2004
It's
my birthday today but I don't think my last birthday can be topped.
That's when we found out we were pregnant with Isaiah ;) As you can
see, Isaiah shared in the festivites...

Monday,
December 29th, 2003
Isaiah
turned 19 weeks old today. I've got some great bath pictures from
last night. He had a fun time sitting up (yes, he's finally sitting
up now!) and playing with his duckie...I can't believe how much he's
grown!

Here's
a close up of our little monkey...

Tuesday,
December 23rd, 2003
Isaiah
is now 18lbs and 18 weeks old ;) He's doing very well. So far none
of us have caught the flu bug that's making the rounds (crossing fingers).
He's been grabbing at toys that we hang in front of him and making
lots of new sounds. He's also giving out loads of big smiles and giggles.
He even ripped open his first Christmas present tonight - a set of
nursery rhyme books from some close friends of ours. I have a feeling,
though, that he's going to sleep through most of Christmas this year.
As
always, he loves bath time. I usually bath him every night as it helps
him settle in for sleep time. He's just started splashing in the water
with his hands and feet. He's quite proud of himself when the water
goes flying. It's hilarious! Here's a few new shots...

While
we were visiting my parents, he did another first...he fell asleep
in his chair! He's never done that before, but lately he's been falling
asleep in his swing as well - too cute!
Cute
mohawk eh ;)
Have
a wonderful Christmas - I know we will!
Saturday,
December 13th, 2003
Isaiah
will be 4 months old in five days - it's hard to believe how fast
time has gone by! He's doing so well. He's actually learned to fall
asleep on his own now (phew! he's wayyy too heavy to rock these days).
He's still teething but it's on and off. I think he's finally slowing
down in weight gain which will give my arms a chance to catch up!
We
got some cute shots of him giggling here...

We're
all ready for Christmas here. I made new stockings for us as per my
hubby's request - really big long ones. I'll take a picture and post
it here soon.
Here's
a picture of "Santa Baby"...

Here's
a picture of Daddy and Isaiah having a cuddle...

Monday,
November 24th, 2003
Isaiah
turned 14 weeks old today. We weighed him last night - 16lbs 5oz.
Will this kid ever slow down? He's getting longer too - he's around
26" now. He was 18" at birth. No one believes he was a preemie
;)
He's
doing so well. He's such a content little baby and we're having SO
much fun with him. It gets better every day. He's cooing and giggling
up a storm. His favorite words are"a-gooooo" and "hiiiii".
I'll add some new pictures soon!
He's
down for a nap at the moment and I can hear him snoring through the
baby monitor - he is his father's son!
Monday,
November 17th, 2003
Time
is going so very fast. I thought it flew by before Isaiah was born
but now...crickey!
We
weighed Isaiah on Saturday night and he's now 15lbs 6oz and 25.5"
long. It's unbelievable!
He's
taken to sucking on his right hand now. He tries to jam the whole
thing in his mouth. He reminds me of Dr. Evil from Austen Powers when
he does it. Too cute! He's 13 weeks old today - hard to believe.
Here's
a picture of Isaiah with his newest little cousin...

This
is the closest to sitting up that we can get this boy to do - I think
that giant belly of his gets in the way!

This
was the first outfit I bought while I was pregnant - he's finally grown
into it! It says..."It's all me me me" - how true!

And
lastly... here's a picture of daddy and Isaiah watching TV. (Once again,
notice the belly!)

Thursday,
November 6th, 2003
Phew!
It's been a while since I updated. I've been pretty busy with this
little boy! I've got lots to share! Isaiah now weighs over 14lbs 6oz.
Isaiah
got his first set of shots a week ago and he did quite well. He cried
when he got the shots but as soon as I picked him up and stopped.
He went through a few fussy/bad days but soon was himself again.
Halloween
was fun this year. From birth, Isaiah's been giving us this Superman
pose and so I thought it would be cute to dress him up! We met up
with all the family for our traditional fireworks night. The neighbours
joined in as well.
Our
Superman!
We
carved some pumpkins, one for each of us. Isaiah slept through the whole
thing. Here are the before and after pictures...

Is
this kid cute or what!
Isaiah's
new cousin, Emma-Lee, was born on October 29th, weighing 7lbs 12oz.
She's a beautiful little thing and as dainty and feminine as they come!
She's the first girl in our family and we're all so excited! We can't
believe the 11 week difference in them! And Isaiah weighed a pound less
than her at birth!
Saturday,
October 18th, 2003
Isaiah
is 2 months old today! Where does the time go! He now weighs 13lbs
3oz and is smiling quite a bit as you can see in this picture...

We
had our last midwife appointment on Thursday and we both checked out
perfect. I have to say that having a midwife is the way to go for
pregnancy and labour. You receive the best care and support the whole
way through - it's fabulous! Even my hubby said that he wouldn't do
it any other way.

This
is Isaiah in a pretty hip outfit!
Isaiah
has a new past-time at 11am every weekday. He loves to watch the Ellen
Degeneres show! He hates the commercials and fusses through them but
as soon as she comes back on he's all smiles and giggles. It's hilarious!
Life
with Isaiah just gets better and better every day ;)
Wednesday,
October 8th, 2003
We
weighed Isaiah last night and he's now 12lbs 5oz. Here's a picture
of our chunky monkey...

I'm
also happy and proud to report that yesterday at exactly 3:12pm I
got my first real longgggg smile just for me. And just when I thought
I couldn't love this boy any more than I already do, my heart swelled
even more at the sight of it! We've been getting the little smiles
for the past two weeks but this one was a big one and all for me -
it was awesome!
This
is mummy and Isaiah grabbing a quick 'kip'...

This
is daddy and Isaiah having their first staring contest... LOL

Thursday,
October 2nd, 2003
Isaiah
is now 11lbs 7oz - he seems to be putting on a pound a week and looks
so different already! I hope my arm muscles can keep up ;)
This
is Isaiah in his swing. He's pretty good in it.

He's
also started watching the television and so I've bought him a Baby
Einstein Language video and he really likes it. We sit together and
watch it.
We're
both over our colds now and Isaiah didn't get it (phew!). Hopefully
he'll start sleeping a little longer through the night. He did well
last night with only two feedings. The past week he's been waking
up every 1 1/2 for a feeding so sleep has been just a fantasy for
me...but it's all worth it!
He's
starting to smile at us now and follows our voices with his eyes.
He's such a sweetheart!
I've
decided that I could go through the pregnancy and labour again - actually
felt that way just after a month of having Isaiah. I hear that's pretty
fast! We'd like to have another child within the next two years -
we'll see what happens...
Thursday,
September 25th, 2003
Isaiah
is now 10lbs 6oz as of two days ago. Who knows what he is today! LOL
He's growing like a weed ;)

A
close friend of mine sent Isaiah his very first (and only!) speedo
and of course, we had to take pictures! What a little poser!!

Unfortunately
both Nick and I are battling colds at the moment and that, mixed in
with sleep deprivation, has taken its toll on us. Isaiah is doing
great though and doesn't seem to have caught the bug himself. We're
doing our best to keep it that way.
Thursday,
September 18th, 2003
Isaiah
is 4 1/2 weeks old today! He had his 4-week visit to the midwife's
office and was weighed. He is now 9lbs 3oz!! What a chunky monkey
;)
He's
doing really well (clearly!) and eating, eating, eating.
Me,
on the other hand, well, I've been having a bit of a hard time. I
fell down half a flight of stairs the other day and landed on my tailbone
- OY! did it hurt. So sitting is now a problem once again. Bummer
(pun intended), because I'd just healed up from the labour and now
I'm back at square one. But I'm sure this too will pass ;)
My
church held a baby shower for us on Monday night and it was unbelievable!
Lots of people and lots of gifts - it was quite overwhelming. I had
a really great time and enjoyed seeing everyone there. Here's a picture
of Isaiah and I and his cake.
Monday,
September 8th, 2003
Isaiah
is 3 weeks old today! We can hardly believe it - the time is going
by SO fast!

We
were away in Duncan, B.C. last week as Nick had to go on business
so Isaiah and I went with him. It was a great trip and Isaiah's first
ferry ride and hotel experience! He's quite the pee-er. The first
hotel room we had boasted two beds and he marked his territory on
both of them (sigh).
He's
changing quite a bit and starting to really bulk up now. He's still
feeding all the time. His
belly button fell off at the beginning of last week. It's so tiny.
My mom and dad kept mine and it's much smaller than mine was.
Sunday,
August 24th, 2003
I
think we've been blessed with the best baby in the world. He only
fed three times through the night and always went right back to sleep.
I actually got 6 hours sleep!! He's starting to eat much, much more
during the day which is great because then night-time will be for
sleeping. My midwife comes back today and I'm curious to see what
his weight will be.
Saturday,
August 23rd, 2003
We're
still doing great here! We had a visit from the midwife yesterday
and his weight is climbing. I'm not surprised because he eats like
there's no tomorrow - OY! We're not getting a lot of sleep but I'm
getting used to that and grabbing naps whenever I can. I've got some
new pictures here to share:

Aren't
baby feet just the cutest thing ever!!
Thursday,
August 21st, 2003 - 36 1/2 weeks
IT'S
A BOY!!
Name: Isaiah
Nicholas
Weight: 6lbs
3oz (18" long)
Born on: Monday
morning, August 18th at 8:30am
He's
a fabulous baby! Barely crys and sleeps and eats a lot.
On
Sunday night, (August 17th) around 8:45pm, I started bleeding and
thought that my water had also broke so I called my midwife and she
told me to meet her at the hospital. Nick, my husband, was out of
town on business (3 hour drive) and so I called him right away and
he headed for home immediately - meeting us at the hospital at 12am.
I
got to the hospital around 9:30pm and my midwife examined me and the
baby but everything seemed fine but for the bleeding. So they decided
to admit me overnight and give me antibiotics just in case. I think
they believed that come morning they'd just send me home as I still
had 4 weeks to go to reach full term. By 1:30am the bleeding had stopped
and I thought that was going to be it but at 3am it started up all
over again. And by 4am I was having stronger and quicker contractions.
I
was examined again at 4:30am and told that I was 2-3cm dialated and
fully effaced! I was on my way. So my midwife came back (after a power
nap!) and away we went with labour. I had to push for 1 1/2 hours
(OY!) and by 8:30am Monday morning, we had a beautiful baby boy! He
didn't cry when he was born - he was perfectly fine and just didn't
feel crying I guess. He didn't even cry through all the bloodwork
and needles, etc. Just slept through everything. He's got lots of
dark hair, and his father's mouth ;)
We
got home from the hospital yesterday (Wednesday) at about 2pm and
we're doing great. A little sleep deprived but that goes with the
territory right!
He's
already been through the McDonald's drive-thru (double OY!) as we
stopped on the way home from the hospital. Does this kid have it good
or what! LOL
Anyway,
I'll keep this updated as much as I can. We're all doing incredibly
well here and he's turning into a real piggie with the feedings. I've
been able to breastfeed - he's a natural and was feeding 45 minutes
after he was born so it's great!
Funny
thing is that we were supposed to go for our hospital tour tonight (Thursday,
August 21st) so I guess we'll pass on that one :)
Thanks
for everyone's prayers and best wishes!
Krista,
Nick, and Isaiah ;)
P.S.
Some pictures...

August
10th, 2003 - 35 weeks
Well,
it's been an interesting past few days! Early Saturday morning (3am
to be precise), I started getting very strong Braxton Hicks and they
continued well into the day. My hubby and I clocked them from every
5 minutes to every 3 minutes and so we called our midwife. She came
over to the house at 1pm to see if I was in actual labour but I wasn't,
so she told me to take some Tylonel and have a warm bath. I did these
things and then was able to sleep for about 1 1/2 hours. But the contractions
continued on through the night and haven't stopped yet, though they
have slowed down considerably.
I've
got to go to the midwive's office on Tuesday first thing and get some
tests done (Group B) and hopefully everything will check out okay.
On a positive note, it's been great practice for me! But 35 weeks
is a little early to be having the baby so we're both a little relieved
that it's not actual labour. My midwife says my body is just prepping
up for the big day. Figures, I never could do anything half-ashed
;) I'll keep you posted on what happens. Hmmm, I wonder if this means
I'll be having this baby a week or two early - that wouldn't be so
bad (smaller baby!)...hmmmm...
July
15th, 2003 - 31 weeks
We've
started our prenatal classes now (last Tuesday) and are really enjoying
them. An interesting fact our teacher shared with us was that, out
of the 11 couples in the class, 3-4 of them will have Caesarens. That's
quite a ratio. I've since learned that B.C., Canada does have the
highest ratio of C-Sections. I believe that's being looked into now.
Not a good ratio to be high on.
Our
baby's newest venture is hiccups. It's the strangest thing to be sitting
down and feeling my body bounce up and down because the baby has hiccups.
Wildly weird sensation. Poor little gapper!
I've
had to up my Diclectin to 2 a day now to help ward off more nausea
movements. Ugh. But otherwise I feel great! I can't believe we've
only got 9 weeks to go! It's coming very fast...

We've
just started setting up the baby's room now. We're going with yellow
and blue to be on the safe side. Here
are some pictures of the room so far. The theme is baby lambs. At
this point, no one knows what the sex of our baby is. I kinda like
it that way. But I have a feeling it's a boy. I don't think I can
crack my husband's family code of all boys. My sister-in-law hasn't
yet but she's also due 1 1/2 months after me - maybe, after having
two boys already, she'll crack the code and get a girl!
On
a funny note, we went and saw "The Hulk" this weekend and
it was quite a loud movie. The baby was kicking like crazy. I think
'he' wanted to get out and see what all the noise was about! LOL
My
favorite snack at the moment is Cheese Pleasers, and I'm addicted
to fruit, which is strange because before I got pregnant I didn't
really enjoy fruit much at all - I was all about the vegetable. Now
I've switched. Crazy!

Welpt,
this baby is movin' around like a freight train in my belly! And I
was worried because I hadn't felt any movement a week ago...haha ;)
This little gapper can't sit still. Me and the baby are doing great.
We're still slowly moving into our new home and I still get tired
a lot but otherwise we're happy and healthy. Time is really starting
to fly by!
April
28th, 2003 - 20 weeks
We
went for my first ultrasound...twice! First time didn't work out so
good. The office called me to confirm my appointment and told me that
since I'm 20 weeks along I only needed to drink 3 glasses of water
1 hour before my appointment. Got to the appointment...bladder was
too small. Dang-a-lang! Luckily, they were able to book me in for
an appointment the next day and this time I loaded up on water an
hour and a half before my appointment. Got to my appoinment and was
in near tears - out of my mind kinda pain. I have never wanted to
visit a 'lou' so badly in my life! So they let me go a 'little' and
even then when the ultrasound tech took a look she laughed at how
huge my bladder was. She offered to let me go and let a little more
out but I was afraid to move at that point ;) Anyway, we got to see
the baby and it was so amazing! Cute little gapper! We didn't find
out the sex. We'd rather be surprised ;)
April
20th, 2003 - 19 weeks
Happy
Easter! Me and the baby are keeping well here. Growing steadily ;)
My husband and I will be moving into our new home on April 26th so
we've got a lot going on at the moment. As for the baby, he/she is
now 8" long (wow!) and happily situated above my bladder (grrr).
I still haven't felt any movements but probably any day now. We go
for our ultrasound in 1 1/2 weeks and are really looking forward to
that!
March
27th, 2003 - 16 weeks
We
heard the heartbeat this afternoon. It was so fast! (160 beats per
minute). What a beautiful sound! Now we know for sure that there's
something growing in there ;)
March,
2003
Well,
I'm starting to feel better now, and have been able to start adding
veggies and fruits to my diet. I have no specific cravings to speak
of. I just seem to get a craving for something, have to have it or
I'll 'die', eat it, and then it's over and onto something new. Go
figure!
We
also bought a house this month and get to move in on April 26th. YAH!
It's even got a hot tub out back - how nice is that (not that I can
use it for another 6 months!)
January
to February, 2003
My
first trimester has been a tough one! From my 5th week to my 12th
week, I've been bedridden and sick with 24-hour morning sickness.
I'm pretty much living on bread products and a bit of chicken. I can't
eat any veggies or fruits. It all comes right back up. And I can't
move. If I try to sit up or walk around, I'm running for the 'throne'.
Ugh! But my mom was the same when she carried me so I guess it's only
fair right ;) I'm certainly looking forward to getting better and
eating like a normal person again. I dream about food every night...literally!

We're
pregnant!
It's
my birthday and we've just found out we're pregnant!! We're both surprised
and very excited. We're at Tigh-Na-Mara, a log cabin resort on Vancouver
Island (in Parksville). Nick had to come here for work and so we decided
to make a weekend out of it to celebrate my birthday. Little did we
know it would be such a celebration!
